Anambra State Governor Soludo

The Governor of Anambra State, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, on Tuesday assured citizens of a crime free state in a matter of weeks
He stated this during the 2025 appropriation budget presentation titled ?Changing Gears 2.0,? to the Anambra State House of Assembly.
The budget which is valued at N606,991,849,118, represents a 48% increase from the 2024 budget.
Speaking at the event held at the state House of Assembly in Awka, the Governor harped on his government?s resolve to strengthen the security architecture and ensure that the state?s zero-tolerance policy for criminality is effectively implemented.
He urged citizens to unite against criminal elements, even as he stressed the importance of collective action.
While reeling out significant infrastructural projects to include, over 540 kilometers of roads under construction, the Ekwulobia flyover and bus terminal nearing completion, the dualization of major highways. Soludo mentioned the construction of a link bridge in Awka and the development of three new cities: Awka 2.0, Onitsha 2.0, and a new Industrial City.
Meanwhile, education and healthcare received significant allocations, even as the governor revealed plans to maintain free education policy, upgrade infrastructure in primary schools, and transform 22 secondary schools into smart schools.
He said: "We will also continue supporting mission schools and provide grants to micro-businesses across 326 wards in the state. I acknowledge funding challenges exist, but my administration is committed to frugality and transparency."
The governor expressed gratitude to stakeholders, including community leaders, traditional rulers, and private sector partners, for their support.
He further emphasized the budget?s significance in shaping a better future for Anambra State and called for collective action to achieve his administration?s goals.
