A distraught father of two girls afflicted with second-degree burns, following a kerosene explosion in Ogbunike, Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State, has cried out for financial assistance to take care of their medical treatment.
The victims, Chinenye Ezeh (16) and Kamsi Ezeh (8), were said to have been involved in the inferno as a result of power outage in the area.
News Express learnt that the younger one, Kamsi, had brought a kerosene container to her elder sister, Chinenye, to fill a lantern.
A source said that the sister did not put out the lantern light before pouring the kerosene. “While she was filling the lantern, it suddenly exploded, leaving both sisters with second-degree burns,” the source said.
The victims were immediately taken to First Foundation Hospital and Maternity, located in Umunmachi, where they are receiving medical attention.
Speaking on the accident, Mr. Godwin Eze, an indigene of Imezi Owa, Ezeagu Local Government Area of Enugu State, called on Anambra and Enugu state governments, as well as kind-hearted individuals within and outside the state, to come to their aid to hospital bills.
