A cross section of participants and dignitaries at the inauguration of the dual events
By CHIEDU UCHE OKOYE
Obosi Development Association (ODA-USA) has built the Obosi Security Smart City Initiative Control Room and offered scholarships to thirty-four Obosi indigenes for their tertiary education.
The inauguration of the dual events, which were witnessed by a great number of Obosi natives, took place at the cavernous Obosi town hall on October 22, 2026.
Speaking at the event, the traditional ruler of Obosi, Igwe Chidubem Iweka (Eze Iweka III), thanked members of ODA-USA for their revolutionary interventions in the critical areas of education and security.
“Today is a special day in Obosi. And I am thanking members of ODA-USA for the numerous projects they had executed in Obosi.
“I pray that God shall reward them for their good deeds,” Iweka said.
More so, in his own address, the Chairman of the Obosi Security Management and Finance Committee (OSMFC), Rtd Col. Sam Agbanusi, thanked members of ODA-USA for building the Obosi Security Control Room, saying that the initiative would improve the security situation in the town.
“I hereby on behalf of all members of the Obosi Security Management and Finance Committee (OSMFC) and Obosi people at home and in the diaspora appreciate the leadership of ODA-USA in the person of Colonel Kene “Bishop” Motanya and the executive committee for their thoughtfulness, which must not be taken for granted,” Agbanusi said.
He said that the Obosi security project, which gulped millions of naira, has a control room at the Obosi town hall; and that cameras are installed in many strategic locations at Obosi for crime prevention and detection.
Agbanusi, also, cautioned political actors in the town to play politics with maturity and understanding as no politician’s political ambition is worth the blood of human beings.
“Politics must be played with wisdom and great understanding per time as it is not a do-die affair.
“We must also realize that nobody’s personal political ambition is worth the blood of Obosi indigenes and non-Obosi indigenes,” Agbanusi said.
And thirty-four natives of Obosi were given educational scholarships that would enable them to pursue their educational goals in tertiary institutions.
Among the dignitaries that attended the epochal events were Chief Chiedu Uyamadu (Odogwu Obosi); Col Kene ‘Bishop’ Motanya; Chimezie obi (esq), the president general of Obosi Development Union (ODU); Chief Esagba; and others.
