Argentine soccer maestro, Lionel Messi and Egyptian star, Mohammad Salah
After five action-packed days featuring a shock elimination and no end of last-gasp goals, the Round of 32 of the FIFA World Cup 2026™ reaches its climax with three more fascinating games.
The action begins in Dallas, where Australia take on Egypt, with both sides looking to win a knockout tie at the World Cup for the first time.
Next up holders Argentina meet tournament upstarts Cabo Verde in Miami, where Lionel Messi will be aiming to score for a record-extending eighth consecutive World Cup game in his adopted city. The African side remained unbeaten in the group stage and managed to hold European champions Spain to a 0-0 draw, so it is little wonder that coach Bubista is not intimidated by the scale of his side's task as he vowed: “For us, nothing is impossible.”
The day will then be rounded out in Kansas City, where Colombia take on Ghana. The South Americans have got off to a hugely impressive start, topping Group K above Portugal while taking seven points, but they will face a tough assignment against Ghana, who have shown to be well-drilled defensively under tournament veteran Carlos Queiroz and lethal on the counter-attack thanks to the pace and power of Antoine Semenyo.
