The PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, a political support group led by High Chief Dr. Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, on Saturday dismissed the emerging alliance involving Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, describing it as an “unholy alliance” with nothing to offer Nigerians.

The group also pledged to deliver over 15 million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

Addressing journalists during a rally held around the All Progressives Congress national secretariat in Abuja, the National Coordinator of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, Sunday Adekanbi Asuku, said the group mobilised supporters across the country in solidarity with Tinubu’s re-election bid.

Asuku said the movement was founded by Tompolo to bridge the gap between government and the people through grassroots mobilisation and public engagement.

According to him, the rally coincided with the APC presidential primary activities and was aimed at reaffirming support for Tinubu’s administration and reform agenda.

He urged Nigerians to be patient with the current administration, insisting that many of the country’s economic and security challenges were inherited and could not be resolved within four years.

“We have come out massively to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. A vote for PBAT is a vote for the future, a brighter Nigeria and a greater Nigeria.

“The decadence of many decades cannot be fixed in just four years. President Tinubu should be given more time to consolidate on the foundation he has built. He is a reformer and Nigerians must support him,” Asuku stated.

Speaking on insecurity, including recent killings in parts of the country, the coordinator said the Tinubu administration was working to address the situation.

“The killings in Nigeria did not start under President Tinubu. It is an inherited problem. However, the government is doing everything possible to combat insecurity and ensure that Nigeria becomes safer,” he added.

On the economy, Asuku said the government’s policies were beginning to stabilise the country, expressing optimism that the reforms would eventually yield positive results.

“For the first time in the history of our democracy, the economy is beginning to regain balance. Nigerians should give the President more time because the reform agenda guarantees a brighter future,” he said.

Commenting on the reported alliance between Obi and Kwankwaso ahead of the 2027 election, Asuku accused opposition figures of being desperate for power.

He claimed that the opposition lacked credibility and insisted that Nigerians would reject them at the polls.

He said: “They don’t mean well for Nigeria. Why are they so desperate for power. How much did they do for their respective state when there were governors.

“Their coming together is an unholy alliance. They have nothing to offer Nigeria, I can assure you. Ask them of their blueprint, what exactly do they have to offer. They have nothing. We can’t give them their votes.

“These are people that you cannot trust in their words. But I can assure you that things would become better under President Bola Tinubu.

“With the structure we have on ground across the country, we are promising President Tinubu more than 15 million organic votes in 2027. He will be more popular than he was in 2023,” he added. (The Guardian)
