The Nigerian Army on Saturday morning announced the rescue of another Chibok schoolgirl in Borno State.
Army Spokesman, Col. Sani Kukasheka Usman, said in a statement posted on his Facebook wall minutes ago that the girl, whose identity he did not disclose, was rescued at Pulka town.
Col. Usman wrote: “Nigerian Army troops rescued another Chibok School rescued at Pulka, details later.”
The girls, numbering about 300, were abducted from their dormitory on April 14, 2014.
News Express reports that the first batch of 21 of the Chibok schoolgirls were recently released by Boko Haram.
“The release of the girls, in a limited number is the outcome of negotiations between the administration and the Boko Haram brokered by the International Red Cross and the Swiss government,” the Presidency had said at the time. It added that “the negotiations will continue.”
