APC chieftain Eze, President Tinubu
By CHARLES IWUOHA
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and erstwhile National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP), Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has called on governors in the South-East to outrightly condemn and demand the immediate confiscation of the revised edition of a textbook titled, “Living History For Junior Secondary School 1”.
Eze also demanded the immediate sack of the Minister of Education, Dr Morufu Alausa, for turning blind eyes to the approval and publication of the book, which he described as “divisive, satanic and full of deceit” and depicted age-long hatred for the Igbo race.
Reacting on a viral video showing contents of the book, allegedly authored by one J.M Itsekuke, the APC chieftain wondered “why a right-thinking Nigerian, if not an ethnic jingoist and a satanic agent, will sit down and author such a thrash that has to do with Nigeria’s history without mentioning the Igbo tribe as a major ethnic group in the country.”
“I learnt that this divisive, satanic and deceitful revised edition of the book for JSS1 students, is even catalogued by the National Library of Nigeria, and yet we have Governors in the South-East.
“How could the South-East Governors keep quite over this national hatred and disgrace, which is deliberately championed by the President Bola Tinubu-led APC government?” Eze queried.
While condemning the author “for painstakingly exhibiting high level of hatred for the Igbos and ignorance by deliberately not mentioning the Igbo ethnic group in his jaundiced piece of garbage,” Eze called for his arrest and prosecution.
“I condemn both the author and the Minister of Education for approving and embarking on such an idiotic voyage of hatred called “Living History” of Nigeria without mentioning the third major tribe in Nigeria.
“That book is an exercise in futility, a wasted nonsensical effort, specifically authored to provoke the Igbo race; it should henceforth be withdrawn from further circulation as a matter of urgency.
“At this point, I demand the removal of the Education Minister, Dr Morufu Alausa, or else this will be counted as a policy statement by this administration to eradicate the Igbos from Nigeria’s history.
“I’m not surprised that this kind of wickedness and hatred of the highest order, for the Igbos, can resurface during the administration of President Tinubu who is not concerned about what the Igbos are going through under his administration,” Eze said.
He posited that the policy projection of the Tinubu administration is basically anti-Igbo, insisting that the book in question “has further confirmed the feelings in some quarters that Tinubu is totally out to emasculate and frustrate the Igbos for reasons best known to him.”
Eze urged the South-East governors to shove politics aside and rise to the challenge by vehemently demanding the arrest and prosecution of the author of that book.
More so, he insisted that the Education Minister has lost the moral ground to retain his position as a Minister, following his silence and acceptance of the inglorious and erroneous history book.
