Anambra youths pass VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE on Youth & Sports Commissioner, urge Gov. Obi to sack him

Youths in Anambra State under the aegis of National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) have passed a vote of no confidence on the State Commissioner of Youth and Sports Development, Dr. Edozie Aroh, urging Governor Peter Obi to sack him without delay.

In a letter to Governor Obi signed by NYCN State Chairman, Comr. Innocent Nduanya, and Secretary, Comr. Ike Awgu, the group accused Dr. Aroh of being an unmitigated failure who has no reason to remain in office a day longer.

Entitled “Vote of No Confidence on the Commissioner for Youth & Sports Development; Re: Dr. Edozie Aroh”, the letter was copied The Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, the State Chief Judge, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and the Chief of Staff to the Governor. It reads thus:

“His Excellency Sir, with all due respect to your exalted office we the entire executives and members of National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Anambra State Chapter humbly wish to use this medium to express our lack of confidence in the continued existence of Dr. Edozie Aroh as the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development in Anambra State as a result of his numerous flaws in the Youth and Sports Development Sector.

“Sir, your complacency in responding to the yearnings and aspirations of the Youths conveyed in writing to your enviable office exposing the numerous flaws of the said Dr. Edozie Aroh in managing the Youths development sector remains an albatros to proper youth transformation in the State.

“Against this backdrop, Youth and Sports Development Programmes and Projects are in dire deplorable state. The Youth and Sports Sector lacks focus and zeal due to Dr. Aroh’s mishandling of youth affairs in the State. The previous commissioners of the Youth Ministry have been fair but since the unfortunate appointment of Dr. Edozie Aroh as the Commissioner, the youths are afraid that your integrity as the Youth loving Governor is at stake in view of the numerous official shortcomings of the Commissioner in handling of the Youth matters. The fallout of the misdemeanor of Dr. Edozie Aroh is most evident in his inefficiency in the mismanagement and mishandling of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Anambra State Chapter Congresses sequel to which have factionalized and devalued the revered apex youth body.

“The abysmal performance of Anambra State contingents to the National Sports Festival “EKO 2012” where the State failed to win a Medal has created a negative impact to the memories of Anambra youths. The shortfall in integration and sensitization of Anambra youths in youth activities is a glaring evidence of the Dr. Edozie Aroh’s incapability to hold the important office of the Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development in our dear Anambra State.

“The above mentioned inefficiencies of Dr. Edozie Aroh as the State Commissioner of Youth and Sports Development has prompted the progressive youths of the state to pass an irrevocable vote of no confidence and hereby demanding for immediate relieve of his appointment as the Commissioner of Youth and Sports Development in Anambra State.”
