Frontline Niger Delta activist, Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo Asari, has declared that getting a second four-year term for President Goodluck Jonathan is a ‘do or die’ affair.
He made the declaration yesterday in a hot interview on Politics Today, a Channels TV programme.
Dokubo, who spat fire during the programme, declared his wholehearted support for the presumed second term ambition of Dr. Jonathan, who happens to be his Ijaw kinsman. Declaring without equivocation that Jonathan, who has yet to publicly express interest to contest, will run for re-election in 2015, Dokubo said it is “no retreat, no surrender” and a “do or die” affair.
He lambasted former President Olusegun Obasanjo for allegedly being out to pull down the Jonathan administration and deny his estranged political godson a second term.
Obasanjo, according to Dokubo, has always said that Jonathan should not run during the 2015 election and has never hidden his preference for a northern politician to fly the flag of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the next political dispensation.
The former warlord also berated Rivers State Governor, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi, for aligning forces with Jonathan’s political enemies, as well as the PDP rebels under the leadership of former Vice president Atiku Abubakar, for their desperation to sabotage Jonathan’s second term ambition.
He equally did not spare the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC), saying that he has since left the opposition’s fold to join the ruling PDP.
