Davido
South African-based preacher, Pastor John Anosike, has claimed that Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, will one day become the president of Nigeria.
In a video that surfaced online on Friday, the clergyman made the prophecy during a sermon, where he said God had anointed the singer for a higher national purpose.
“A young man in my country who is known for his music is just a young boy, jumping and singing all kinds of songs, dancing in different ways. But that one has received oil from God. He calls him My servant. This is the first time I am speaking about this publicly. His name is Davido. Consider it, he is My servant. He shall become the president of Nigeria and he will unite the country,” he said.
Anosike described Davido as a secular musician who, despite his lifestyle, had been chosen by God for leadership.
“In the realm of the Spirit, I saw him kneeling before Jesus. The Lord took a jar of oil, poured it on his head, and said to me in the Spirit, ‘Look, he has been chosen to unite the country and to lead it into economic freedom,’” he added.
He further claimed that Davido is unaware of the spiritual future ahead of him, stressing that God is currently preparing several people across nations to deliver their countries through economic and spiritual reforms.
This is not the first time a public figure has spoken about Davido’s influence beyond music. In recent years, the singer has received recognition for his philanthropic works and youth engagement, although he has not publicly expressed any political ambition.
As of press time, Davido is yet to react to the prophecy. (The Guardian)
