I’m unmarried because I see relationships through a script — Actor Nonso Diobi

Actor Nonso Diobi

Actor Nonso Diobi has shared the reasons behind his unmarried status, attributing it to his struggle to separate his on-screen persona from real-life relationships.

In an interview with Labista, the seasoned actor reflected on how his upbringing in the spotlight shaped his approach to romance.

“I grew up on TV and don’t know what it means to be a regular guy. I’ve tried to build relationships that would lead to marriage, but there was something I was doing wrong. I was seeing them through a script”, he said.

Diobi, known for his roles in numerous Nollywood films, admitted that his immersion in the entertainment industry blurred the lines between scripted romance and genuine connections.

Despite his efforts to find a lifelong partner, he acknowledged that his tendency to approach relationships as if they were scenes from a movie hindered his prospects. (The nation)
