Nigerian journalist Livinus Chibuike Victor
Nigerian journalist Livinus Chibuike Victor is set to make history by attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the Longest Interviewing Marathon, aiming for 72 hours and 30 seconds of non-stop interviews.
The event is scheduled to take place from April 17th to April 20th, 2026, at Harrow Park Golf Club off Ahmadu Bello Way (behind Abia House) in the Central Business District, Abuja.
Victor, a passionate media personality, said his motivation for the challenge comes from his commitment to storytelling and amplifying voices.
He believes the record attempt will not only test his endurance but also serve as a platform to engage in meaningful conversations and raise awareness about important social issues.
“As a journalist, I’ve always sought to share stories that inspire, inform, and impact society.
This record attempt provides an opportunity to push my limits, engage in meaningful conversations, and raise awareness for significant social issues,” he explained.
Preparing for such an intense endurance test has required months of training. Victor has undergone rigorous physical and mental preparation, including meditation and resilience exercises, to ensure he remains focused and alert throughout the marathon.
His interviewing techniques have also been fine-tuned to sustain engaging discussions over the extended period.
A team of health experts and support staff will be on hand to monitor his well-being, ensuring he remains hydrated, nourished, and mentally sharp.
“With strategic breaks, nutrient-rich meals, and deep-breathing exercises, I am confident that I will stay energized and motivated,” he said.
The public has responded enthusiastically to Victor’s attempt, with many expressing admiration for his determination and creativity.
Media experts believe the challenge will push the boundaries of journalism, showcasing new possibilities for immersive and real-time storytelling.
According to Victor, this attempt is more than a personal achievement; it is about demonstrating resilience, dedication, and the ability to push beyond perceived limits.
Following the record attempt, Victor has even bigger plans. He intends to become the first journalist to host an interview in Antarctica, bringing storytelling to one of the most extreme environments on Earth.
“I want to push storytelling beyond conventional settings and engage in thought-provoking conversations in the most extreme environments,” he revealed. (The Nation)
