Primeboy, late Mohbads childhood friend
A childhood friend of late Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba Mohbad, popularly known as Mohbad, Owodunni Ibrahim, commonly known ‘Primeboy’, has dragged Abosede Aloba, the mother of the late singer, to court for alleged defamation.
Mohbad died on September 12, 2023, and was buried the following day.
However, on September 21, 2023, his body was exhumed by police for an autopsy.
In October 2024, Primeboy threatened to sue Mohbad’s mother for alleged defamation, accusing her of claiming that he had an altercation with her son before his death.
In a letter, the first page of which was shared via an Instagram post, Prime boy described Abosede’s alleged statement as “libelous, injurious and malicious”.
He demanded that the singer’s mother should pay N50 million for “exemplary damages”.
“The sum of N50, 000,000.00 (Fifty Million Naira only) being exemplary damages for libelous, injurious, falsehood and malicious statement made of and concerning the Claimant by the Defendant in a video interview made on the 28th of March, 2024 and published in several news media and online news outlets, designed to defame the Claimant in the eyes of right-thinking members of the society,” the letter reads in part.
Abosede was also ordered to respond within 42 days or risk the case proceeding being held in her absence.
“You are hereby commanded that within 42 (forty-two) days after the service of this Writ on you, inclusive of the day of such service, you do cause an appearance to be entered for you in an action at the suit of the Claimant,” the letter added. (Vanguard)
