Kefilwe Mabote

South African media personality Kefilwe Mabote has shared her reasons for destroying her high-end designer clothes after dedicating her life to Christ.

Mabote shared a video of herself burning expensive designer items, a move that drew criticism from many who argued she could have donated the clothes to those in need.

Addressing the backlash in a recent Instagram post, Mabote explained that her decision was deeply rooted in her faith and biblical teachings.

“I’ve been getting questions about why I chose to burn Versace items instead of giving them away, and I want to take a moment to explain with care and understanding,” she wrote.

“The decision to burn the items came from a place of conviction. According to the Bible, such things are considered ‘accursed’ (see Joshua 7:13 for context). For example, the image of Medusa represents a Greek god, from the marine kingdom, and as believers, we cannot serve two masters. To give these items away would be to pass on something I no longer stand for, and I can’t in good conscience transfer things that I know carry deep spiritual implications.” (Vanguard)

She did the best thing. It's like an idol worshipper giving his idol to another person. Such will be encouraging idol to stand in his domain. Utterly destroy the idols is the command of the Lord to believers of former idols.
