Joeboy and Asa
Singer Joeboy has reacted to the copyright infringement notice sent to him by his senior colleague Asa.
The award-winning songstress’ legal team served Joeboy a notice of copyright infringement on September 30, 2022, following the release of his song “Contour”.
According to the notice Joeboy’s “Contour” released on August 19, 2022 infringed on the copyright of a musical composition (the “Composition”) created by Asa in a recording session that took place on September 22, 2022 with Alageu Michael Chidozie aka Tempoe in attendance.
The notice demanded that Joeboy removed the song from all digital streaming platforms within 24 hours of issuance.
The Empawa Africa signee was also required to issue a written apology, pay N300 million, and assign Asa a sixty-percent publishing split on the song.
Posting the copyright infringement notice via his insta story, the 25-year-old singer merely laughed it off.
The notice held the inscription; “LOL (Laughing Out Loud).”
Joeboy further reminded Asa and her legal team that it’s been 48 hours since they issued the notice, daring them to do their worst.
“Cos I dey always do love and light you think sey I be soft meat. You said I have 24 hours, it’s been 48hours, do something,” he wrote. (The Nation)
