Imo PDP chieftain Stanley Amuche
A group known as “Concerned Friends of Stanley Amuche” has dismissed a publication in an Owerri-based tabloid, that their principal, Mr. Stanley Amuche, is now working hand in gloves with Governor Rochas Okorocha to scuttle the governorship ambition of Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, a governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 general election.
The group in a statement signed by Chief (Sir) Humphrey Onukogu said that though there has been enormous pressure on Amuche to contest for an elective position, he has not publicly or in whispers declared his ambition to contest for any position.
They described the publications “as false, malicious and a figment of the imagination of parochial mischief makers and elements whose stock in trade is to dent and rubbish the image of people” whose profiles are on upward mobility.
Acccording to Concerned Friends of Stanley Amuche, “Much as the said publication is provocative, false, misleading and aimed at causing disaffection, we also wish to state, that Mr. Stanley Amuche, a seasoned banker, administrator and technocrat has all it takes and is highly qualified to contest for any position of honour, trust and responsibility hence his people and, in fact, the entire Imolites will gladly key in, identify with and support him, if and whenever he decides to contest”. They therefore, urged the public to ignore and entirely disregard the rumours, and contents of the publications as they were made in bad faith.
