Thunderstorm
The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) has made the following predictions about the country’s weather condition for today, Thursday, September 28, 2017:
NORTHERN STATES: Partly cloudy to cloudy conditions are likely over the region in the morning hours. Later in the day, sunny to partly cloudy conditions are expected to prevail over the region except over Yelwa and Kebbi axis where there are chances of isolated thunderstorms. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 30 – 38℃ and 19 – 25℃ respectively.
CENTRAL STATES: There are chances of isolated thunderstorm over Abuja, Makurdi, Lafia, Mambila, Kaduna, Lokoja and Yola while other places in the region will remain cloudy during the morning hours. Later in the afternoon/evening hours, thunderstorms are anticipated over the high ground of the central cities. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 30 – 32℃ and 20 – 23℃ respectively, except over Jos where 28℃ and 17℃ day and night temperatures are expected.
SOUTHERN STATES: Localised thunderstorms with rains are expected to prevail over some places like Akure, Ado, Enugu, Umuahia, Abakaliki, Lagos, Ikom and Owerri in the morning while in the afternoon/evening period, there are chances of isolated thunderstorms over most places in the region. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 28 – 32℃ and 19 – 25℃ respectively.
