The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Police Command, CP. Zanna M. Ibrahim, has stated that his Command will synergise with all progress-minded Deltans towards ensuring that Delta is safe and secure.
A statement issued by Police Public Relations Officers, DSP Andrew Aniamaka in Asaba as part of activities to welcome the Chairman of Delta State Civil Service Commission, Chief Nkem Okwuofu and her management team who paid the Commissioner a courtesy visit recently in his office at the Command Headquarters, Asaba.
Earlier, during the visit the chairman had commended the CP for his efforts in reducing crime wave in the state and appealed for a strengthening of ties between the Commission and the Force.
The CP, who expressed delight at the ever increasing confidence and trust of the people in the Police and other security agencies, informed the visitors that the operations of the newly revitalised and centralised Police X-Squad would cover all segments of society and urged the chairman and team to impress on the civil servants under their supervision to eschew all forms of corrupt practices in order to move Delta State and the nation forward.
In a similar vein, the leadership of Otu-Ihaza of Asaba, the Vigilante Group of Nigeria and the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Delta State chapter paid courtesy visits to the CP. Each expressed satisfaction with the performance of the CP and his officers and men towards ensuring peace and security and sought ways of forging mutually benefiting relationships.
The CP charged the leaders of Otu-Ihaza of Asaba to educate their subjects on the need to respect the law and refrain from criminal acts under any guise.
He also acquainted the Vigilante leaders with the laws guiding the possession and use of fire-arms while enjoining them to work closely with the Divisional Police Officers in their communities. The CP equally admonished the youths to always channel their energies towards profitable ventures rather than engaging in criminal and mischievous acts. He called on the youths in the state to collaborate with security agencies in ensuring the protection of all government critical infrastructures in their domain.
