Ogun APC 2027 Deputy Governorship Candidate, Kudirat Adegunwa-Balogun
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State on Sunday unveiled Mrs Kudirat Adegunwa-Balogun, daughter of billionaire industrialist Alhaji Adebola Adegunwa, as the deputy governorship candidate of the party.
The party, at a strategic meeting on Friday, zoned the position to Ogun East Senatorial District, with the slot micro-zoned to Ijebu Central Federal Constituency.
Adegunwa-Balogun, a 51-year-old chartered accountant, currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Executive Director of Finance and Administration at Rite Foods Limited, one of Nigeria’s leading food and beverage manufacturing companies.
She was announced during the state’s APC caucus meeting held at the party’s secretariat in Abeokuta.
The state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, in his address at the programme, appreciated the leaders and members of the party for their unflinching support and commitment to the party.
Abiodun disclosed that the party was able to produce 39 representatives who will be contesting elective positions in the state out of more than 700 contestants, without rancour.
The party’s governorship candidate, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, in his remarks, said he believed in the capability and competence of his running mate based on her track record, rich family heritage and qualities.
Mrs Adegunwa-Balogun thanked the party leadership, Governor Abiodun and Senator Adeola for counting her worthy of service to the state.
She promised not to betray the trust reposed in her, while assuring the people of the state of her readiness to work with Senator Adeola in ensuring the party’s victory. (Nigerian Tribune)
