Jigawa State Governor, Namadi
By MUHAMMAD NASIR BASHIR
The Jigawa APC Elders Committee has purchased and presented nomination and expression of interest forms to Gov. Umar Namadi.
The forms were presented during a brief ceremony at the council chamber, Government House, Dutse, on Monday.
The event attracted senior party leaders, government officials and members of the elders committee.
Mr Ali Sa’adu-Birninkudu presented the forms on behalf of the committee and praised Namadi’s leadership style.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports the committee also backed the re-election bid of President Bola Tinubu with N100 million.
Sa’adu-Birninkudu, a former Jigawa governor, said the committee carefully reviewed developments before taking its decision.
He said the governor had demonstrated commitment to governance, accountability and people-centred development across the state.
According to him, the committee also acknowledged President Tinubu’s policies and reform agenda.
He said both leaders had introduced programmes aimed at improving citizens’ welfare and strengthening public institutions.
“These projects and policies have positively touched many lives across Jigawa and Nigeria,” he said.
He explained that the presentation fulfilled an earlier pledge by the committee.
“We promised to purchase these forms for Governor Namadi and President Tinubu,” he said.
Sa’adu-Birninkudu said the committee remained committed to supporting leaders who delivered meaningful governance.
He urged the governor to arrange a meeting with the President. “We want to personally present him a N100 million cheque,” he said.
He said the check would support the purchase of the President’s nomination forms.
Sa’adu-Birninkudu prayed for divine wisdom, strength and guidance for both leaders. He also prayed for electoral victory for them in the 2027 general elections.
“May Allah grant them success and wisdom in serving the nation,” he said.
He reaffirmed the committee’s loyalty to the APC and its candidates. “We will continue supporting our party at every level,” he added.
Responding, Namadi thanked the elders for their confidence and political support.
He described the gesture as encouraging and deeply appreciated by his administration.
“I sincerely appreciate this demonstration of loyalty and unity,” the governor said.
Namadi promised to facilitate a meeting between the elders and the President. He said the meeting would allow them to present the cheque personally.
“This gesture shows that Jigawa remains firmly behind the APC,” Namadi said. (NAN)
