Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has declared that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is poised to produce Nigeria’s next president in the 2027 general elections.

Makinde made this assertion on Monday in Abuja while addressing party members and stakeholders at the 103rd National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of a PDP faction aligned with him.

He used the platform to project confidence in the party’s electoral strength and its chances of returning to power at the federal level.

“We should write it down. This gathering will produce House of Assembly members, will produce House of Representatives, will produce Senators, will produce Governors and will produce the next President,” he said.

During the meeting, the faction approved the composition of a 13-member Caretaker Committee, naming Tanimu Turaki, SAN, as chairman.

The resolution was adopted following a motion presented by Edo State PDP Chairman, Tony Aziegbemi, and supported by the party’s ex-officio member, Clement Fagboyede.

The committee also has Taofeek Arapaja as National Secretary, alongside members Daniel Ambrose, Hamza Abuya, Ihediwa, Isah Abubakar, Theophilus Dakashan, Ini Ememobong, Aribisala Adewale Idowu, Baru Shaffi, and Okechukwu Obiechina. (Nigerian Tribune)
