Kaduna traffic agency begins crackdown on offenders, releases list of offences

Kaduna State Traffic and Environmental Law Enforcement Agency (KASTELEA) has announced the commencement of ticketing and fining of offenders.

A statement signed by Zubairu Ahmed, a retired colonel and the General Manager of the agency on Wednesday in Kaduna, listed the offences to include driving without relevant particulars/documents, use of mobile phones while driving, driving without seat belt, wrongful parking, disobeying traffic lights, signs and markings.

Other offences are overloading of vehicles, both human and goods, resisting arrest, noise which constitute nuisance, failure to cover vehicles carrying waste, construction sand, gravel and other materials, non clearance of drainages, vehicles with excessive emissions and assault on marshals of KASTELEA.

He said the ticketing and fining is with immediate effect.

He advised the general public to also adhere to other traffic and environmental laws.
