MOSOP condemns assassination of former lawmaker, 3 others, warns politicians against jeopardising public peace

The Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People (MOSOP) has expressed strong condemnation of last Monday’s assassination of former councilor of Gokana Local Government Area, Hon. Boris Neenwi, and three others in Nonwa, Tai Local Government Area, Rivers State.

A statement issued on Thursday in Port Harcourt by the Publicity Secretary Fegalo Nsuke said: “MOSOP urges the Nigerian Police to properly investigate the killings and ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice.
“We also wish to express our deepest condolences to the bereaved families.
MOSOP calls on politicians to exercise restraint in the present circumstance and desist from blame gaming and casting aspersions on each other while the killings are being investigated. We urge politicians not to engage in acts that could incite their supporters against each other and jeopardise public peace.”
