APC accuses Wike, ex-militant leader of killing party chieftain, 3 others •Magnus Abe calls for probe

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has accused Governor Nyesom Wike and an ex-militant leader Solomon Ndigbara of killing Hon. Boris Neenwi and his companions in Nonwa, Tai Local Government Area of the state, even as Senator Magnus Abe has called for a thorough investigation of the killings.

In a statement issued by the state Chairman of the party, Chief (Dr.) Davies Ibiamu Ikanya, the APC called on security agencies in Rivers State and at the federal level to leave no stone unturned in ensuring that Solomon Ndigbara and all those who have a hand in the killing of Hon. Neenwi and the young people who were gruesomely killed alongside him are apprehended and made to face justice.
Chief Ikanya said: “Monday, 3rd October, was another sad day for members of the Rivers State Chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) as a prominent member of the party, Hon. Boris Neenwi, was felled by the bullets of assassins in Nonwa Tai. Killed alongside Hon. Neenwi were Manager Nkoba (M), Nornubari Loveday (M) and Cecilia Loveday (F).”
Late Boris Neenwi, according to the statement, was a strong ally of Senator Magnus Abe, a staunch APC member, and a former Councilor from Yeghe community who recently finished his law programme from the University of Maiduguri.
“Until his assassination, late Neenwi was a known critic of Gov. Nyesom Wike and Wike’s ex-militant leader and collaborator, Solomon Ndigbara who also hails from Yeghe community.
“The killing of Hon. Neenwi shares similar imprints with how another APC chieftain and ally of Senator Magnus Abe, late Dr. Vincent Eebee also from Yeghe who was gruesomely murdered by suspected agents of the PDP and Gov. Nyesom Wike six months ago.
“This is yet another senseless killing that must not be swept under the carpet as has become the pattern in Rivers State especially when APC members are victims,” the APC alleged.
Meanwhile, Senator Magnus Abe, who is the APC candidate for Rivers South East Senatorial District in the legislative re-run election, has called on the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris to investigate the gruesome murder of Hon. Boris Neenwi and other APC stalwarts by unidentified gunmen in Nonwa, Tai.
A statement issued in Port Harcourt and signed by Mr. Parry Saroh Benson, Spokesperson to Senator Abe, confirmed that the deceased until his death was a strong supporter and loyalist of Senator Abe who has always stood his ground against criminality and all forms of molestation.
Abe said that a full and unbiased investigation would unravel those behind the dastardly act and restore the people's confidence in the security agencies.
He described the deceased as a man of integrity, an advocate of peace and progress.
He prayed God to grant the family and friends the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
