Sunny condition to prevail today in the North; rains likely in Port Harcourt, Calabar, Eket, Benin, Obudu, Ogoja and Yenegoa: NiMET

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) has made the following predictions about Nigerian weather condition for today, Tuesday, October 4, 2016:

NORTHERN STATES: Partly cloudy to cloudy conditions are expected over the entire North in the morning hours except Gusau, Sokoto and Yelwa axis that has the possibility of thunderstorm. Sunny condition is expected over the region in the afternoon/evening hours. Day time temperatures over this region should be in the range of 33 – 41°C.

CENTRAL STATES: Cloudy morning is anticipated with chances of localised thunderstorm over some parts of Abuja, Jos, Lafia, Makurdi, Ibi, Bauchi, Gombe, Jalingo and Mambila Plateau. Later in the day, partly cloudy sky is expected with chances of isolated thunderstorm to affect the high grounds of the central states. Day time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 31 – 33°C, except Jos and Mambila Plateau which are likely to be 27oC.

SOUTHERN STATES: Cloudiness is expected over the inland of the Southwest and coastal cities, with prospects of localised rains over Port-Harcourt, Calabar, Eket, Benin, Obudu, Ogoja and Yenegoa in the morning hours. There are prospects of isolated thunderstorm over the region in the afternoon/evening hours. Day time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 30 – 32°C.
