Hilda Baci poses with her GWR
Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has commended chef Hilda Baci for setting a Guinness World Record by preparing the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice, weighing 8,780 kilograms.
In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), Obi described Baci’s achievement as a “powerful symbol” of the nation’s untapped potential, saying it demonstrated what Nigerian youths could accomplish when passion, hard work and opportunity converge.
“The Nigerian youths remain very talented with skills that can break world records. If we invest in them, support them and open doors of opportunities, there is no limit to what our nation can become,” Obi wrote.
Baci’s feat has attracted national pride and international attention, joining Nigeria’s growing list of Guinness World Records in food and culture.
Obi’s remarks also align with his consistent calls for youth empowerment and skills development, which he said are key to unlocking Nigeria’s economic growth.
“May this be one among many more records to come,” he added. (The Guardian)
