The much-anticipated International Students Film Festival (ISFF), a brainchild of one of Africas most consistent filmmakers, Dr. Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen, has kicked off in grand style at Nigerias premier private university, Igbinedion University, Okada, Edo State.

It was an awesome Thursday evening, October 12, 2023 “ an evening of glitz and glamour; a night that a lot of movie enthusiasts, students and filmmakers will live to remember.

It was a night of an overflowing hall of film enthusiasts, film students from different parts of Nigeria, Africa and other parts of the world; all gathered at the prestigious university celebrating, watching and relating with their role models; participating and learning from the leaders in the industry the art of becoming great film makers and actors; watching and beholding their dreams being fulfilled.

Over 250 student-made films were submitted from across the globe; including Nigeria, Ghana, Cameron, Kenya, Spain and many others.

Among dignitaries in attendance were veterans like Chief Zeb Ejiro (OON), Chairman, Board of the National Association of Movie Producers; President of the association, Chief Dr. Queen Egbuson; National Chairperson of Nigeria Film Festival Association and Vice President of the of Directors Guild of Nigeria, Uchena Agbo; pioneer Chairman of Edo State chapter of Association of Movie Producers, Dr. Osaigbogovo Erhiamator; Founder of the Bayelsa International Film Festival, Moses Etonzor; and movie producer Wendy Uwadai Imasuen.

The entire members of the management team of Igbinedion University led by the Vice Chancellor of the Igbinedion University, Professor Lawrence Ikechukwu Ezemonye, equally graced the event.

The highlight of the occasion included the investiture of Chief Zeb Ejiro (OON) as one of the grand patron of as well as the screening of the movie.

The festival ends on Sunday, October 15, with an award ceremony holding on Saturday, October 14, inside the Main Library Hall of the main campus of the university.
