Firefighters battling the blaze at Italys Catania airport
Flights to and from Catania airport in southern Italy were suspended as firefighters fought a blaze on Sunday night.
Sac, the company that manages the Vincenzo Bellini international airport, said that flights would be suspended until at least 8 am (0600 GMT) on Mondaydue to a fire which developed in the airport.
Firefighters said that the situation was delicate and demanding, according to news agency ANSA.
The agency reported that firefighters were first called to the airport on Sicilys east coast around 11:30 pm Sunday. (dpa/NAN)
