Air Force alerts on the circulation of fake appointment letters

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has drawn the attention of the public to “fake appointment letters being circulated by some unscrupulous persons to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.” NAF Director of Public Relations & Information, Group Captain Ayodele Famuyiwa, said yesterday in a statement: “A copy of such letter, supposedly signed by the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, was brought forward by one Nkwor Ifechukwude who was alleged to have been offered appointment as an officer in the NAF. More so, the NAF of recent has been receiving calls from members of the public making inquiries about a supposed replacement scheme to recruit people into the Service. It is pertinent to state that these appointment letters do no emanate from the NAF and the Service is not in the process of conducting any recruitment exercise at the moment.

“The general public is hereby advised not to have any dealings with anybody on behalf of the NAF. For information on NAF recruitment, please visit the NAF official recruitment portal on www.careers.nigerianairforce.gov.ng or forward all enquiries through info@airforce.mil.org to the Directorate of Public Relations and Information, Headquarters Nigerian Air Force, Abuja.”
