MOSOP disowns factional leader Mike Lube-Nwidobie and his team

The Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People (MOSOP) has placed a disclaimer on “a fake MOSOP leadership purportedly led by one fraudulent Mike Lube-Nwidobie and inaugurated by a community chief, G.N.K Gininwa on Monday, January 11, 2016 at his residence in Korokoro, Tai Local Government Area.”

A statement signed by MOSOSP Publicity Secretary Fegalo Nsuke said: “MOSOP denounces this action as the organisation is neither aware nor has it approved the inauguration of any chapter or executive at the home of any Ogoni chief. The place and position of MOSOP far exceed every chieftaincy stool and MOSOP strongly frowns at the use of its name to drive personal and pecuniary interests.

“MOSOP urges the general public to be weary of this group led by one Mike Lube-Nwidobie and Godwin N.K. Gininwa as they are fake and neither represent the Ogoni people or MOSOP

“We state categorically that Mike Lube-Nwidobie is fake. His claims about his association with MOSOP are fraudulent and the Ogoni people will have nothing to do with any engagements entered into with Mike Lube-Nwidobie or any member of his team.

“Anyone doing business or engaging Chief Mike Lube-Nwidobie on any issues relating to the Ogoni does so at his own risk.

“We restate our commitment to the Ogoni cause under the leadership of the recently re-elected MOSOP President, Legborsi Saro Pyagbara, and urge all Ogoni people to discountenance every attempt by politicians and friends of Shell to create divisions amongst us.”
