The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET) has made the following predictions about Nigeria’s weather condition for today, Thursday, January 14, 2016:

NORTHERN STATES: Should have moderate dust haze with visibility values of 2-5km, especially the residence of Sokoto and Kastina. Night time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 15-20oC.

CENTRAL STATES: Moderate dust haze is anticipated with visibility range of 2-5km. Night time temperatures is expected to be between 15-20oC.

SOUTHERN STATES: Mist/Fog patches are expected to affect places like Calabar, Eket, Port Harcourt, Yenegoa and Lagos in the early morning hours. Partly cloudy conditions are likely over cities like Calabar, Port Harcourt, Eket and Lagos in the afternoon. Night time temperatures is likely to be in the range of 20-25oC.

NOTE: During this period of the year, the atmosphere is usually very dry, windy and dusty. Citizens should avoid substances that may ignite easily to reduce incidences of fire outbreaks.
