The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET) has made the following predictions about Nigeria’s weather condition for today, Sunday, January 10, 2016:

NORTHERN STATES: Maiduguri, Nguru, Kano, Katsina, Sokoto Yelwa and Yola will experience moderate dust haze with visibility 2-5km. Night time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 15-20oC.

CENTRAL STATES: It is expected to be sunny and hazy in moderate visibility (2- 5km) over Abuja, Minna, Bida, Lafia, Ilorin and Makurdi. Temperatures within the range of 18-23oC is expected during the night.

SOUTHERN STATES: Mist/Fog patches are expected in the early hours of the day over Port Harcourt, Yenegoa, Calabar and Eket. Localised showers is likely over Calaber in the afternoon while partly cloudy conditions are anticipated over Akure, Ibadan, Benin, Enugu & Owerri. Night time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 20-24oC.

NOTE: During this period of the year, the atmosphere is usually very dry, windy and dusty. Citizens should avoid substances that may ignite easily to reduce incidences of fire outbreaks.
