Senator Shehu Sani yesterday in Kaduna announced scholarship offer to five children of Corporal Ibrahim Musa, who was killed two years ago by Boko Haram terrorists in Maiduguri, Borno State.
A Facebook group known as O’News said that Sani, a renowned activist before his entry into partisan politics, made the announcement during a visit to late Musa’s family.
It quoted him as saying: “I located the family of the fallen soldiers through Facebook posted by the deceased friend. I contacted the fellow only to discover that this gallant soldier came from my constituency. So I got into with the family and also discovered that the five children have been withdrawn from schools.
“I was moved because if it were in a normal country, the government would have taken up the responsibility but you can see that this family is suffering.
“So, the idea is to see that these children when they grow up they know that their father died for others to live and that he died for the peace of the country.”
