A clergyman believed to be Moses Tabwaye, the Anglican Bishop of Gwagwalada Diocese, Abuja, who was kidnapped three days ago, has been released.
Bishop Tabwaye was on his way to Onitsha in Anambra State when he was kidnapped by gunman somewhere around Edo State.
A Channels TV report this afternoon said the police announced his release in Asaba, the Delta State capital.
“Before the Bishop was found, his vehicle was allegedly abandoned and later recovered by the highway patrol team in Onicha-Ugbo axis of Delta State,” the report said.
It said that Delta State Police spokesperson, Mrs Celetina Kalu, told reporters yesterday that the pressure mounted on the kidnappers led to their arrest.
“The Delta State Police also confirmed that Bishop Tabwaye was released without any ransom paid,” the report said.
