Former Finance Minister, Senator Nenadi Esther Usman, has raised the alarm over the creation of fake Facebook accounts in her name for the purpose of defrauding unsuspecting members of the public.

In a disclaimer, issued yesterday in Abuja, Senator Usman declared unequivocally that she does not operate any Facebook account.

“The general public is hereby warned of the activities of a shadowy character that has recently created fake Facebook accounts with the name of Sen. Nenadi Esther Usman. The accounts in question were recently introduced by this questionable character as the authentic Facebook accounts of Sen. Nenadi Esther Usman to members of a Facebook group with the intention of giving the impression that comments from these fraudulent accounts are made by the former Finance Minister.

“The general public is therefore advised to disregard any comments, solicitations and approaches regarding the EMMZALIN FOUNDATION or any other organization from these accounts as they are certainly not operated by Sen. Nenadi Esther Usman or any of her aides or associates. For the avoidance of doubt, Sen. Nenadi Esther Usman does not operate a Facebook account,” she said.
