The Anambra State Police Command has arrested Chukwuma Enemuo, 27-year-old, an indigene of Okwutu Amawka village, Ozubulu, Anambra, for alleged child trafficking.
The suspect was arrested by police detectives attached to Ozubulu division.
It was gathered that the suspect conspired with one Obi Chidubem, aged 45 years, of Umuabuche Eziama village Uli in Ihiala LGA, and sold his three days old baby boy at the sum of N150,000to one Mrs Anulika Okafor, aged 39 years, of Uruokwe village, Ozubulu.
A statement by the state Police Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Haruna Mohammed, said that the suspect lied to his 20 years old wife.
The PPRO said that all the three suspects have been arrested adding that the baby was also recovered even as case is under investigation after which suspects would be charged to Court for prosecution.
Also in police net are suspected rapists, 36 years old Okechukwu Anyanwu, 25 years old Emeka Odoh of Ezi Umunya, Oyi council Area of the state.
The statementreads in part: “On the 24/6/2019 at about 3:pm,Police detectives attached to Oyi Division arrested One Okwuchukwu Anyanwu ‘m’ Aged 36 years and Emeka Odoh ‘m’ aged 25years all of Ezi Umunya in Oyi LGA of Anambra State.
“Suspects had on the 23/6/2019 at about 11am took advantage of one Nwanneka Nwaizu aged ‘f’ aged 23 years, a mentally challenged girl and had unlawful carnal knowledge with her.
“Scene was visited by the Police and Victim taken to General Hospital Onitsha for medical examination. Case under Investigation after which suspects would be charged to Court for prosecution.”
