MNJTF chiefs inspecting weapons seized from ISWAP terrorists during recent clearance operations
The Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) has attributed the recent spate of attacks by the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists to desperation on their part to execute the mandate of their foreign sponsors.
“MNJTF is aware of the pressure on ISWAP by its foreign collaborators to deliver on the Caliphate, hence the flurry of ISWAP inspired attacks of the last couple of weeks on both military and soft targets. However, the MNJTF working with national forces is determined to thwart the effort to make the Lake Chad Area a sanctuary for terrorists,” Colonel Timothy Antigha, MNJTF Chief of Military Public Information, said in a statement issued on Sunday in N’Djamena, Chad.
He disclosed the seizure of assorted bombs, grenades and other deadly ISWAP weapons by troops during latest clearance operation conducted in Doron Naira, “a subsidiary operation in the larger Operation YANCIN TAFKI.”
According to Antigha, details of equipment casualty inflicted on ISWAP are as stated below:
a. 17 X AK 47 Riffles
