The Office of the National Productivity Centre (NPC) in Abuja, the nation’s capital was on Wednesday gutted by fire.
Speaking to Channels Television, NPC Director-General, Kashim Akot said the fire was caused by the electric surge in one of the sockets in the upper building of the office.
Although no life was lost, the fire however ravaged some parts of the first floor of the building.
The NPC boss regretted that many important data that are relevant for national usage were lost during the unfortunate incident.
The office is located at Cape Town Street, Zone 4, Wuse, Abuja, Federal Capital Territory.
