No fewer than 3,000 residents of Kebbi State are expected to benefit from free medical and surgical treatment as more than 25 doctors from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and other Arab countries arrive in the state for an eight-day medical intervention.

Special Adviser to Governor Nasir Idris on Religious Affairs, Engr. Imrana Ibn-Usman, disclosed this in Birnin Kebbi on Friday.

Ibn-Usman said the intervention was organised by the Kebbi State Government in collaboration with the Nasara Foundation and the World Association of Muslim Youths (WAMY), Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

According to him, the exercise will take place at the Kalgo Medical Centre (KMC) from Saturday, September 12, to Saturday, September 19, 2026.

He said the medical mission would provide free treatment for various ailments, including general surgical procedures, with about 1,500 patients expected to undergo surgery and another 1,500 to receive other forms of medical treatment.

The special adviser said the intervention was specifically targeted at vulnerable and less-privileged residents who might otherwise be unable to afford specialised medical services.

He called on chairmen of the 21 local government areas in the state to mobilise residents in need of medical attention and ensure that they took advantage of the opportunity.

Ibn-Usman urged beneficiaries to appreciate the state government and the visiting medical team for bringing the intervention to Kebbi and providing the services free of charge.

He also commended the doctors from Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries for offering their expertise and services in support of healthcare delivery in the state. (Channels TV)
