No fewer than 30 persons were yesterday killed by Boko Haram in three communities in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State in Nigeria’s terror-torn North-West.

The insurgents took away the village head of Zar community, retired Wing Commander Dauda Daniel, aftermaths of the attacks.

It was gathered that 20 persons were butchered at Mubeng village.

Some relatives of head of Zar said the community leader is yet to be found after the raid and he may have been abducted by the gunmen.

The figure of those killed in Lube was yet to be ascertained, said one of the villagers who fled the community as a result of the attacks.

An eye witness who identified himself as Lazarus said most of the people in his Lube community were able to scamper to safety before the rampaging gunmen got to their village.

He said the casualty he envisaged would be children and the aged who could not hurriedly make it to a safe location before the invaders got to their community.

About 30 people were said to have lost their lives to the incidents.

The Adamawa State Police Public Relation Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police Haa Michael, said he was only privy to a rumoured attack in the Hong area but didn’t have details as a formal report was yet to be made by local police authorities.
