It was day of joy and fun as this year’s Iri Ji Eluama festival held yesterday, Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the Ezumezu Eluama Centre in Isuikwuato, Abia State.

The occasion brought together sons and daughters of the community, who came celebrate with friends and relations.

Hosted by Abuja branch of Eluama Development Union (EDU), the umbrella body that organises the yearly event.

The President-General of EDU, Noble Cyril Uchenye, while welcoming guests at occasion, saluted sons and daughters of the community, friends and we’ll wishers who found it worthy to come and celebrate with community.

Chairman of the occasion, AVM Chinwendu Onyike (Rtd), a worthy son of the community praised the brotherly love that exists amongst the autonomous communities that make up Eluama clan, promising to “always be at the forefront in fostering a more united Eluama.”

A road show by the youths of the community was earlier showcased announcing the big event.

Also, two autonomous communities – Umuokogbuo and Ezebe – were hosted at the nearby Commonwealth Hotel by the management of Platinum Bank Ltd, who sponsored the event along with Nigerian Breweries.

Six traditional rulers that make up the Eluama clan performed the traditional Iwa Ji rites.
