Dokubo raises alarm, says Jonathan’s life in danger

Ijaw nationalist, Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo Asari, has raised an alarm over the fate of President Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan, his kinsman and the first person from the oil-rich Niger Delta to rule Nigeria.

Dokubo, leader of the Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force (NDPVF), raised the alarm following the ranting of a Muslim fundamentalist from northern Nigeria who gloated about how they purportedly engineered last Saturday’s helicopter crash in President Jonathan’s home state, Bayelsa, which killed all six persons on board, including Governor Patrick Yakowa of Kaduna State and former National Security Adviser, retired Gen. Andrew Owoeye Azazi.

‎As the nation mourned, sick Aminu Gadzama, a 1993 graduate of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, north-central Nigeria, gloated on his Facebook wall: “1 Stone down 2 Birds and collateral damage avoided = intelligence warfare.”

Taking offence, Dokubo lambasted Gadzama, whom he described as “a Gambari bigot.” According to Dokubo, “the meaning” of Gadzama’s post “is very clear that Yakowa was eliminated without collateral damage.....which he discribed as intelligence warfare....This is new face and war front open by the Gambaris.....their actual target is GEAJ.” (GEAJ stands for Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan.)

Rather than show remorse, Gadzama stuck to his guns, likening the purported warfare as a game of chess in which the one that is always ahead of the game is the one that wins.

This prompted Dokubo to exclaim that “the truth is coming out the Gambaris killed Yakowa and Azazi.” He repeated his advice to President Jonathan to “act now.....in their plot he is the next target.”

News Express reports that Nigeria has in the past few years contended with heightening terrorism as a result of the activities of the Boko Haram Islamic sect in the country’s far north. Over 3,000 lives have been lost and efforts to reign in the group have yet to succeed.
