Thunderstorms
The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted deep moisture level in the air expected to give rise to thunderstorms and rainfall over most parts of the country for Sunday.
NiMet made this known in its Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Saturday.
It predicted thunderstorms and rains over the northern states throughout the forecast period.
The agency added that day and night temperature in the region would be in the ranges of 27 to 29 degrees Celsius and 20 to 23 degrees Celsius respectively.
According to NiMet, moderate rains are envisaged over the central states in the morning hours while isolated rains will be expected in the afternoon and evening hours.
It said that day and night temperature in the region would be in the range of 25 to 30 degrees Celsius and 21 to 23 degrees Celsius respectively, except for Jos that would be between 23 and 15 degrees Celsius.
The agency also predicted light rains over Enugu, Awka, Abakaliki, Umuahia, Owerri, Akure, Ado, Oshogbo, Ibadan, Abeokuta, Lagos, Ijebu-Ode, Iseyin and Shaki axis throughout the forecast period.
NiMet added that light rains would be expected over Calabar, Eket, Ikom, Uyo, Port Harcourt and Yenegoa during morning hours and moderate rains over the entire region in the afternoon and evening hours.
It said that day and night temperature in the region would be in the range of 26 to 29 degrees Celsius and 21to 24 degrees Celsius respectively. (NAN)
