The Afenifere family has saluted Dr Amos Arogundade Akingba (Triple A) as he joins the octogenarian club tomorrow, March 1, 2018.

A statement signed by Afenifere’s Publicity Secretary, Yinka Odumakin, stated: “Dr Akingba has distinguished himself among his peers over the years as a University teacher, business consultant and a super activist of progress.

“He has devoted his time, resources and God-given talents to the search for a livable, progressive, inclusive and a properly structured Nigeria that will guarantee the greatest happiness of all nationalities in Nigeria.

“Dr Akingba is on record as being one of the pillars of the National Democratic Coalition (NADECO), the body that contributed significantly to the now 20-year retreat of military from our politics and the environment of the current civil rule.

“When many wayward politicians roam the political space today in their billowing agbada and farting on democracy, they hardly remember the Akingbas of this world and their sacrifices.”

Afenifere added: “The great news is that men like Akingba make all the sacrifices without asking for any favour in return.

“But God Almighty Has rewarded him with long life and good health that at 80 he looks like a 50 year-young.

“At 80 he works tirelessly and always prompt at every meeting at the shortest notice.

“He has been specially reserved for a moment like this when Nigeria lies prostrate at the intensive care.”

Afenifere however thanked God for the years of his life, saying: “Our prayer for him is that he will see a restructured Nigeria in his lifetime.”
