The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) has made the following predictions about the country’s weather condition for today, Thursday, October 22, 2017:

NORTHERN STATES: Partly cloudy to sunny condition is expected to prevail over this region except for Yelwa and Kaduna where localised thunderstorm are anticipated in the morning. Sunny condition is expected over the north eastern part of this region with chances of localised thundery activities over Sokoto, Kano, Zaria and Bauchi in the afternoon/evening hours. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the ranges of 35 – 40℃ and 16 – 26℃ respectively.

CENTRAL STATES: Partly cloudy to cloudy morning is anticipated over this region except for Niger, Jos and Nasarawa where there are chances for localised thunderstorm while Abuja, Bida, Lokoja and Jos have prospects for localised thunderstorm in the afternoon/evening hours. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 32 – 39℃ and 23 – 26℃ respectively except Jos at 32/17℃.

SOUTHERN STATES: Partly cloudy to cloudy skies are expected for the inland cities in the morning, while Owerri, Enugu, Umuahia, and Akure have chances for localised thunderstorm in the afternoon/evening hour. There are possibilities of morning thunderstorms over Calabar, Port Harcourt, Yenagoa, Warri and Benin while localised thunderstorm are not unlikely over the entire region in the afternoon/evening hours. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 32 – 37℃ and 21 – 23℃ respectively.
