The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) has made the following predictions about the country’s weather condition for today, Saturday, February 17, 2018:

NORTHERN STATES: Dust haze condition in horizontal visibility of less than or equal to 1,000m is expected over the northern cities throughout the forecast period. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 32 – 36℃ and 17 – 20℃ respectively.

CENTRAL STATES: Dust haze condition in horizontal visibility of about 2 – 5km is anticipated over most part of this region with chances of localised thunderstorm over Lafia, Makurdi and Lokoja in the afternoon/evening hours. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 34 – 38℃ and 20 – 25℃ respectively, except over Jos where 31oC /15℃ day and night temperatures are expected.

SOUTHERN STATES: Partly cloudy to cloudy skies are envisaged over this region in the morning hours. However, there are prospects of localised thunderstorms over Enugu, Akure, Ibadan, Ado and the coastal cities during the afternoon/evening period. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 30 – 36℃ and 22 – 26℃ respectively.
