The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted moderate dust haze conditions with visibility range of one to three kilometres over the central States of the county on Thursday.

NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Wednesday also predicted day and night temperatures in the range of 26 to 37 and 11 to 20 degrees Celsius respectively.

The agency predicted that the southern States would experience moderate dust haze over the inland state with visibility range of one to three kilometres throughout the forecast period.

It also predicted hazy conditions over the coastal cities during the forecast period with day and night temperatures in the range of 30 to 37 and 16 to 23 degrees Celsius respectively.

NiMet further predicted that the southern states would experience day and night temperatures in the range of 30 to 35 and 17 to 23 degrees respectively.

According to NiMet, Northern States will experience dust haze conditions with a visibility range of one to two kilometres over most parts of this region.

“Few places are likely to experience visibility of less than 1,000 metres during the forecast period with day and night temperatures in the range of 25 to 32 and 10 to 21 degrees Celsius respectively.

“Dust has been raised which is adverting into the country and this is expected to affect most parts of the northern cities with visibility range of one to three kilometres and localised less than 1,000 metres.

“Moderate dust haze conditions are anticipated over the central states and the inland cities with visibility range of one to three kilometres.

“The coastal cities are expected to be in hazy conditions within the next 24 hours,” NiMet predicted. (NAN)
