A chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (Aributed the perennial call for the actualisation of Biafra to the yearning of the souls that died during the three years of civil war in Nigeria, suggesting that plans should be made towards giving the dead a befitting burial so that their souls could rest in peace.

Ezeonwuka who addressed Journalists yesterday in Oba, Idemili North Local Government Area of the state also described the decision of the South-East Governors to proscribe the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) as hasty.

He maintained that proscription of the group may not lead to the end of activities of Biafra agitators.

The sports lover and owner of Rojenny Stadium urged the governors to take a more holistic approach towards ending the spate of agitation for Biafra.

His words, “Only a befitting burial and memorial would appease the Biafran spirit which had taken over minds of most youths across the South-East and South-South regions.

“There is need for them to unanimously decide on how the souls of those who lost their lives during the civil war between 1967 and1970 and related struggles would be reburied and appeased.

“But the Governors did not do enough research before their decision to proscribe the IPOB, there is a spiritual aspect of what is going on, the souls that died during the war are still hovering because they have not been recognised and buried.

“As a spiritual person, I can tell you that those souls that were lost are still alive, they have possessed our youths. That is why they are calling for Biafra even at the risk of their lives.

“I am therefore calling on the Governors in the old Eastern region states to unite and put an end to this agitation by setting up a memorial for dead Biafra soldiers so that they can be appeased and allowed the living to have peace.

“This is done all over the world including the Catholic Church. Every soul deserves respect even in death.”

Ezeonwuka while commending the unity among the south-East Governors, argued that it was a popular practice among countries in the world to remember the souls that were lost during wars and natural disasters.
