Thunderstorm
The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has made the following predictions about the country’s weather condition for today, Monday 11 September, 2017:
NORTHERN STATES: Cloudy conditions are expected over Sokoto, Kebbi, Maiduguri, Potiskum, Nguru and Damaturu, while localised thunderstorms are anticipated over Gusau, Katsina, Kano, Zaria and Dutse during the morning hours. There are prospects of thundery activities over Maiduguri while localised thunderstorms are expected over most part of this region in the afternoon/evening hours. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 32 – 39℃and 22 – 24℃respectively.
CENTRAL STATES: Localised thunderstorms are anticipated over Yola, Mambilla, Jos, Kaduna, Abuja, Lafia, Makurdi and Lokoja. Elsewhere over this region is expected to be cloudy in the morning. Later in the day, isolated thunderstorms are anticipated over the entire region. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 30 – 33℃and 22 – 25℃respectively, except over Jos where 27℃and 18℃day and night temperatures are expected.
SOUTHERN STATES: There are prospects of localised thunderstorms over Umuahia, Awka, Abakaliki, Calabar, Enugu, Yanagoa, Calabar and Port Harcourt. Elsewhere over this region is expected to be cloudy in the morning. Localised thunderstorms are anticipated over the entire region including places like Oshogbo, Shaki, Ijebu, Lagos, Ado-Ekiti, Iseyin, Akure Obudu, Ogoja, Ikom, Abakaliki, Yanagoa, Calabar and Port Harcourt in the afternoon/evening hours. The day and night time temperatures are expected to be in the ranges of 29 – 33℃and 21 – 24℃respectively.
