The ruling All Progressives grand Alliance (APGA) has swept yesterday’s local government election in Anambra, thus tightening its grip on the stateless than two months after it also won the governorship ballot.
A certified true copy of the election result signed by the commissioner in-charge of the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC), Sir Sylvester Okonkwo, showed APGA having comprehensively won in the 14 local government areas the results of which have so far been released by ANSIEC. APGA also won almost all the councillorship seats in the 14 LGs, only conceding two councillorship seats to PDP in Idemili North and South.
The LGs so far declared and won by APGA are as follows:

3. Onitsha South
4. Orumba North
5. Orumba South
6. Anambra West
7. Ogbaru
8. Aniocha
9. Oyi
10. Ayamelum
11. Dunukofia
12. Ekwusigo
13. Idemili North
